About this event

The "3rd Nishitokyo City Carrom Tournament: Aim for Victory!" will be held in Nishitokyo City. This tournament is a doubles competition for "Carrom," a board game handed down in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture. With rules resembling a blend of "ohajiki" and "billiards," its appeal lies in being enjoyable for everyone from children to the elderly. Ahead of the tournament, an introductory workshop where participants can learn how to play carrom and the doubles rules (Sunday, July 26, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM) and a practice session for reviewing rules and playing practice matches (Sunday, August 2, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM) will be held. The main tournament will take place on Sunday, August 23, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the meeting room of the Hibarigaoka Public Hall. Participation is limited to pairs who live, work, or attend school in the city, allowing various combinations such as elementary school students with guardians, children together, or adults together. Priority for tournament participants will be given to those who can participate in both or either the workshop and practice session. The capacity is 12 pairs (24 people) on a first-come, first-served basis. Even those without carrom experience can easily participate by learning the rules at the workshop or practice session. It is sure to be an exciting event for everyone.
