Held inside the new construction site of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen "Kanagawa Prefecture Station (tentative name)," a 3-minute walk from Hashimoto Station on the JR East and Keio Electric Railway lines in Midori Ward, Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, "Sagamihara Linear Festa 2026" is an event aimed at deepening understanding of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen project and construction work. It offers a rare opportunity to view up close a construction site usually off-limits to the public, allowing visitors to experience a powerful sight that can only be seen now. The event runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, 2026 (cancelled in case of stormy weather, held in light rain). On the first day, Saturday, October 24, an opening ceremony will take place from 11:00 AM on a special underground stage, featuring greetings from the organizers as well as a "Sho x Ikebana Live Performance" by Ayako Kanisasare and Kazutomo Kubojima. Additionally, on the same day from 12:30 PM, an awards ceremony for the "Linear Chuo Shinkansen and 'Future City' Hashimoto" design contest will be held at "FUN+TECH LABO." On the special stage inside the construction site, live music performances by artists and performances by local organizations are scheduled, and on Sunday, October 25, publicly selected performers will appear as part of a collaborative project with "Kanagawa Performa Open Space." Furthermore, exhibition booths by local governments, regional organizations, and companies will showcase robot exhibitions from the Sagami Robot Industry Special Zone and promotional displays for GREEN×EXPO 2027. Visitors can also enjoy food and drinks sold by local food trucks. Admission is free, but advance admission application and registration (free) are required. Since no parking for cars or bicycles is provided at the venue, the use of public transportation is recommended. For safety, participants are requested to wear comfortable walking shoes.
