About this event
This is the "Walking the Former Koayu Village and Kamifurusawa Area" event organized by the Atsugi City Tourist Volunteer Guide Association. Participants will visit the ceiling paintings of Honzen-ji Temple, Kumano Shrine (the village's guardian shrine), the birthplace of Dr. Kametaro Toyama (a world authority on silkworm research), and the "Shigen Saiseikan" located inside the Atsugi City Resource Recovery Center. While walking the approximately 5 km route, participants can learn about the local history, culture, and resource recycling. The itinerary includes Honzen-ji Temple, Tanzawa Goringo Road, Kumano Shrine, Dr. Kametaro Toyama Birthplace, Enkiri no Matsu (Severing Pine), Yazaki Stone Buddhas, Suwa Shrine, Hozokuji Temple, Atsugi City Resource Recovery Center (Shigen Saiseikan), and the "Mori no Atelier" in Nanasawa Forest Park. Restrooms are available at bolded locations on the route. The participation fee is 500 yen (including insurance and materials), with a capacity of 25 participants (first-come, first-served basis). The event may be cancelled in case of rain.
