"Ojiya Festival" is the largest festival in Ojiya City, held with full citizen participation. The featured "Karakuri Manto (Mechanical Lantern) Parade" and "Grand Fireworks Display" are special highlights. The "Grand Fireworks Display," with approximately 7,000 fireworks launched, boasts one of the largest scales in the prefecture, and the finale "Super Wide Vesuvius Giant Starmine" funded by citizen donations is a must-see for its sheer power. Applications for message fireworks are also accepted, allowing people to launch fireworks filled with gratitude or messages of support for their loved ones. Announcements of the messages will also be made during the fireworks display. Throughout the festival period, visitors can enjoy various events including street stalls, the unified lantern parade, the lantern friendly plaza, and Self-Defense Forces vehicle displays.
