Welfare Fureai Festival in Komatsu 2026

About this event

Aimed at bringing together diverse people from children to senior citizens regardless of disability to deepen mutual understanding, the "Welfare Fureai Festival in Komatsu 2026" is packed with events and corners that anyone can casually enjoy. Starting with the opening, awards ceremonies for the Fureai Welfare Art Exhibition and the Social Welfare Citizens Convention will be held. In addition, a sign language stage and mini-live performance by the Hokuriku Idol Club will take place, allowing participants to enjoy learning sign language. At the venue, welfare experiences, exhibitions, and sales by welfare facilities and organizations will be conducted, where snacks, light meals, and handmade crafts can be purchased. Corners to deepen understanding of disability characteristics and experience communication methods such as sign language, summarized writing, Braille translation, and audio transcription are also prepared. Promoting arts, culture, and sports is also an objective, featuring displays from the Fureai Fukushi Art Exhibition and parasport experiences including boccia, wheelchair basketball, and accuracy shooting. As participatory events, a bread-eating race (first 200 participants) and a stamp rally with prizes will be held. Concurrently, the award ceremony for the Komatsu City Social Welfare Citizens Convention and the Komatsu Eco Festival will be held at the same venue.
