Soba, Music, and the Night Sky (Starland Sakadani)

Held at "Starland Sakadani," located a few minutes by car from the Minami-Rokuroshi area of Ono City, Fukui Prefecture—a designated International Dark Sky Place—this is an event where you can enjoy soba noodles, music, and the night sky all at once. While listening to pleasant live jazz and folk performances, you can savor the special dish "Sakadani Moon Viewing & Star Set Meal" lavishly using seasonal ingredients locally sourced from Ono and Sakadani, and enjoy moon viewing and stargazing. In addition to lying down on the lawn square to fully enjoy the starry sky and the Mid-Autumn harvest moon, programs such as quizzes, picture-story shows (kamishibai), and explanatory commentary shows related to the starry sky will be held in cloudy or rainy weather. Dishes utilizing local ingredients will be served, such as "Moon Viewing Chilled Okra and Tomato Soba" using Ono native variety buckwheat flour, kakiage tempura of freshly picked vegetables, and tonjiru pork soup with summer vegetables. A "Moon Viewing & Stargazing Session" led by a Starry Sky Guide is also scheduled after the meal.
