42nd Furusato Jidai Matsuri: Eve Festival

The schedule for the Eve Festival of the "42nd Furusato Jidai Matsuri (Hassaku Matsuri)" held in Tsuru City has been decided. The main festival will be held on Sunday, September 6. Prior to the festival, the week leading up to the event day is designated as "O-Hassaku Week," during which voluntary projects and initiatives to enliven the festival are being sought. Examples of proposed projects include Hassaku music concerts, paper lantern decorating workshops, and cleanup activities around the venue. Additionally, during the two days of the festival, groups are being recruited to perform on the "Furusato Performing Arts Stage" with the main venue set at the schoolyard of Tsuru Municipal Yamura Daiichi Elementary School. This is open to organizations and clubs wishing to present dance or performance showcases. Furthermore, the feudal lord procession (Daimyo Gyoretsu) and competitive displays of Hassaku festival floats will passionately energize the town, and participants are being recruited to wear traditional costumes and take part in historical pageants parading through the former castle town. Sponsorship donations from corporations and sole proprietors are also being accepted, seeking support to make the festival even grander, more gorgeous, and more fulfilling.
