42nd Furusato Jidai Festival: Main Festival

About this event

The date for the main festival of the "42nd Furusato Jidai Festival (Hassaku Festival)" held in Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture, has been decided. The main festival will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026 (Reiwa 8). Prior to the festival, from one week before until the day of the event, independent projects and initiatives to enliven the festival are being recruited under "O-hassaku Week." Examples of projects include Hassaku concerts, lantern-decorating workshops, and cleaning activities around the venue. In addition, during the two days of the festival, groups and clubs wishing to present dance and performances on the "Furusato Performing Arts Stage," with the grounds of Tsuru Municipal Yamura Daiichi Elementary School as the main venue, are being recruited. Furthermore, Daimyo Processions and Hassaku Festival float competitions will passionately liven up the town, and participants to color this historical picture scroll by parading through the castle town in costume are also being recruited. Sponsorship donations from companies and sole proprietors are also being solicited, calling for support to make the festival grander, more gorgeous, and more fulfilling.
