About this event
Having attracted 3.2 million visitors in Japan and abroad and gained immense popularity on social media, the "MINIATURE LIFE Exhibition: Tatsuya Tanaka's World of Resemblance" will be held for the first time in Yamanashi Prefecture. Miniature photographer Tatsuya Tanaka combines familiar everyday objects with diorama figurines—turning a bread roll into a Shinkansen bullet train or ice cream into planet Earth—to humorously create miniature worlds, displayed through approximately 150 3D works and photographic pieces. Visitors can also enjoy photo spots where they can snap pictures as if stepping into the miniature world, as well as works exclusive to the Yamanashi venue. It is an exhibition where both adults and children will naturally smile while enjoying Tatsuya Tanaka's original world of art. Tatsuya Tanaka was born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1981. In 2011, he started "MINIATURE CALENDAR," an art project that reimagines everyday objects as other things from a miniature perspective, and continues to present works every day. In 2017, he created the opening title sequence for the NHK morning drama serial "Hiyokko," and in 2020, he participated as a creator for the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. His Instagram followers exceed 4 million.
