Held in Kai City, Yamanashi Prefecture, 'Fiscal Year 2026 Machinaka Museum 2: See, Touch, and Enjoy! Jomon x Kofun Experience Festival' is an event where visitors can experience the wonders of the Jomon and Kofun periods. Genuine Jomon pottery and stone tools brought in from the archaeological museum will be at the venue, along with hands-on activity corners such as Jomon eraser puzzles and Jomon body stickers. Panel exhibits highlighting Japan Heritage themes, such as 'The Jomon World of the Starry Central Highlands' and 'The Roots of Koshu Craftsmen: Mitake Shosenkyo,' will also be displayed. Furthermore, visitors can enjoy a satellite exhibit of the Yamanashi Archaeological Excavation Exhibition 2026, a corner where ancient Kofun pottery can be touched, and guided explanation tours of the Ofuneishi Kofun. As a concurrent event, a promotional booth for the Yamanashi Prefectural Archaeological Museum Research Laboratory will also be held, offering an opportunity to learn deeply about Jomon and Kofun culture.
