About this event
Set in the national forest spreading at the foot of the sacred Mount Ontake, the trail running event 'OSJ ONTAKE50' will be held on September 23, 2026, in Otaki Village, Nagano Prefecture. Unpaved forest roads normally off-limits are specially opened, allowing participants to run through majestic nature. Two events are offered: Long (approx. 54 km) and Middle (approx. 30 km), open to healthy men and women aged 15 and older. The time limit is 10 hours for the Long event and 6 hours 30 minutes for the Middle event. The race course overlooks magnificent views of Mount Ontake, and the emotion at the finish is extraordinary. Voluntary cooperation toward regional revitalisation is also encouraged. The entry fee includes event commemorative goods, accident insurance, and parking fees. Top finishers in the Long event will also receive the benefit of guaranteed entry rights for the following year's ONTAKE100.
