About this event
This event utilizes local materials from Chikuhoku Village to enjoy craft-making together with local residents. It is recommended for anyone interested in pottery, the Jomon period, migration/relocation, or Chikuhoku Village. Through this experience, you can learn about Chikuhoku Village, village life, and the local people. The event consists of two parts. In Part 1, as the "Thatch Tying Experience," participants will learn about the history of thatched roofs and experience the process from tying thatch with rope to thatching. In Part 2, as the "Jomon Hut Experience," participants will prepare dinner using rice, miso, and vegetables from Chikuhoku Village, followed by an exchange gathering while sharing a meal around the hearth in the Jomon hut. Dinner preparation and the exchange gathering are optional to join. Participants in the event will receive a free hot spring ticket that can be used at hot springs within the village. Various experiential events are held throughout the year, and this session marks the 3rd installment.
