Environment Fair Seki 2026

About this event

Environment Fair Seki 2026 will be held to provide a fun way to learn about the environment and reflect on everyday living. The venue is packed with activities to think about the environment while having fun, including eco-related hands-on experiences and craft workshops, school environmental exhibits, reuse and recycling projects, sales of local agricultural produce and foods, and stage events. There will also be a lecture about one year with the Antarctic Research Expedition, as well as a used book exchange and book repair workshop booth at the library. Collection of reusable and recyclable items will take place, covering unwanted cutlery and blades, used vegetable cooking oil, and used small household electronics. In addition, distribution of blueberry saplings and free distribution of 'Kankyo Nabe' (Eco Hot Pot) made with fresh vegetables primarily from Seki City and Gifu Prefecture with a focus on local production for local consumption are scheduled. A garbage truck ride & waste loading experience, a wooden toy square, and various hands-on and crafting booths are also prepared. Environmental exhibits are extensive, including the 'Seki Fish Tank' where you can observe aquatic creatures living in Seki City's rivers, and a photo exhibition of katakuri flowers and Gifu butterflies. There will also be initiatives aimed at waste reduction through repair, reuse, recycle, and upcycle, as well as a 'Toy Hospital' where broken toys are repaired and cherished. Booths celebrating local production for local consumption, exhibitions of school environmental activities, and entries from the Environmental Poster Contest will also be featured. Stage events will showcase kindergarten drum-and-fife performances, acrobatic dance, and cheer dance. It is an event for the whole family to enjoy while sparking thoughts about the local and global environment.
