59th Seki Cutlery Festival

Representative of Seki City, Gifu Prefecture—the town of blades—the "Cutlery Festival" will be held in 2026 on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11. Along the Honmachi-dori Shopping Street, the "Cutlery Bargain Market" featuring around 40 cutlery companies will take place, offering an abundant selection of cutlery products such as kitchen knives, scissors, and pocket knives at discount prices. In addition, various distinctive events unique to the cutlery capital will be held throughout the city, including spark-flying traditional Japanese sword forging demonstrations, one of Japan's largest outdoor knife shows, and Iaido sword-drawing performances, bustling with many tourists. Operating hours are from 10:00 to 17:00, but checking the official website is recommended as times vary depending on specific events.
