ala Film Festival 2026

About this event

Organized by the Kani Public Arts Center ala, the "ala Film Festival 2026" is a handmade film festival run by citizen volunteer committee members in Kani City, a town without a commercial movie theater. It screens recommended works carefully selected by the ala Film Club, aiming to build connections among citizens through cinema. Screened titles include "104-Year-Old Tetsuyo-san's Living Alone," "Oshukatsu Re:Spring! Life Rhapsody," "Dying to Survive," "A Portable Brother," "Robot Dreams," "Wind Majim," and others. In addition, on Saturday, October 31 from 14:00, following the screening of "A Portable Brother," a talk event will be held featuring the film's director, Ryota Nakano, as a guest. Tickets are 1,000 yen for all reserved seats and 500 yen for ages 25 and under, going on sale on Saturday, August 22 from 9:00 AM.
