Japanese name:全国薬草フェスティバル in ひだ
📅 Sat, Sep 12, 2026 - Sun, Sep 13, 2026
About this event
The "National Medicinal Herb Festival in Hida", bringing together medicinal herb professionals and enthusiasts from across the country, will be held for two days on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, 2026, around Hida-Furukawa Station. At this festival, numerous medicinal herb vendors from inside and outside the city will set up stalls offering product sales, food and drinks, workshops, fieldwork, and exhibitions. Medicinal herb organizations from all over the country will gather, and various medicinal herb-related mini-lectures and initiative introductions are also planned. In the past, sales of teas, sweets, sundries, and essential oils made from medicinal and wild herbs such as mugwort (yomogi) and spicebush (kuromoji), as well as workshops for making handmade kneaded soaps and beeswax balms, were held and visited by many enthusiasts. In addition, the venue was very lively with offerings of food and drinks made with medicinal herbs, stamp rallies, and more. In 2026, it will once again be a great opportunity to learn about the appeal of medicinal herbs while having fun and interacting with peers.
