📅 Sun, Sep 20, 2026

📍 Fujinomiya, Shizuoka

About this event

A tea-offering ceremony by the Oubaku Kofu School of Sencha-do (steeped green tea ceremony) will be held in front of the Haiden (Worship Hall) and Kitoden (Prayer Hall) of Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine. In this ritual, the opening of tea jars (kuchikiri) that were offered at the Okumiya (Inner Shrine) at the summit of Mount Fuji is performed. After the tea-offering ceremony, tea seating is arranged within the shrine grounds, allowing visitors to taste sencha green tea. It is a valuable opportunity to experience the traditional tea ceremony culture that has continued since ancient times.
