Umi Asobi GO: Shimoda Shirahama Tide Pool Exploration

A parent-child event held on the rocky shores of Shirahama Fishing Port in Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture—an area usually restricted from entry—offering experiences such as sea creature observation, fishing, and hand-net dipping. Supervised by local fishermen, observation tanks are set up, and captured creatures are promptly released after observation. With safety rule lectures given by staff, even first-time visitors with children can participate with peace of mind. At low tide, the rocky shore is exposed, providing a special opportunity to interact with rich marine life. Participants can also learn about fisheries and the marine environment. Advance reservation via the "UMIGO" app is required to participate.
