Play the Steinway♪ September Schedule

About this event

A special event will be held in the Main Hall of the Shimoda Civic Cultural Center, offering the opportunity to play the "Steinway D-274" concert grand piano, beloved by pianists around the world. On a stage also used for professional concerts, you can fully savor the rich resonance unique to Steinway. You can experience the pinnacle of pianos for various purposes, such as four-hands piano duets, sessions with brought-in instruments, or recital practice. The fee is 1,000 yen per 30-minute block, with continuous use available for up to 4 blocks (2 hours). A stamp card system is also available, where 10 stamps earn 1 free block. Tuning or moving the piano is not performed. Stage lighting will be turned on, but acoustic reflection panels and heating/air conditioning are generally not used. Opening and closing the piano lid will be done by stage staff. Use for paid lessons by instructors or as piano recitals/concerts is not permitted. Junior high school students and younger must be accompanied by a guardian. Please remove rings, wristwatches, and other items to avoid scratching the keys. Special performance techniques, such as inserting foreign objects between strings or touching strings directly, are not permitted. No equipment rental is available other than the piano and piano chair. Usage time includes preparation and cleanup time. Groups of 5 or more must consult in advance. Food and beverages are generally prohibited inside the hall.
