19th Makinohara City Music Marathon

About this event

Celebrating its 19th edition, the Makinohara City Music Marathon is a concert open to all music lovers regardless of age or experience. Visitors can enjoy performances across a wide variety of genres, including piano (solo and four-hands), vocal solos, choruses, and solo or ensemble performances with various instruments. Set in a 500-seat hall, anyone capable of performing can participate, from beginners to experienced musicians. Performance time per stage is 5 minutes for individuals and 10 minutes for groups (including setup and cleanup). Participation applications are submitted via return postcard, with the application period open until August 25, 2026 (postmarked on or before the date). The participation fee is paid only by performers at the reception desk on the day of the event, and admission for viewing at the venue is free. This event aims to bring vitality to the local community through music.
