About this event

Samurai of the Edo period acquired high-level martial arts skills, including mastery of archery, horsemanship, swordsmanship, and spearmanship. This exhibition explores the lives of samurai who forged both mind and body through daily training, not just through participation in battles. Centering on valuable weapons and armor actually used by the Owari Tokugawa family of daimyos, as well as secret scrolls and treatises on various martial arts, this exhibition introduces the world of martial arts from diverse perspectives. It is an exhibition where you can experience firsthand how samurai were not merely warriors, but also accomplished athletes.
