About this event

The 'Japan Goldfish Championship' is a competition where all varieties of goldfish are exhibited. Goldfish enthusiasts from all over Japan gather and compete across two divisions—the 'Parent Fish Division' and the 'Young Fish (Tosai) Division'—to determine the best goldfish in Japan based on beauty. It is a rare opportunity to see numerous splendid goldfish that are not usually seen. Alongside this tournament determining the pinnacle of goldfish painstakingly raised by breeders, a 'Yatomi Goldfish Scooping' distinct from ordinary scooping fish will also be held. A total of 770 goldfish of various types from across the country (fiscal 2025 actual) will be exhibited to compete in beauty.
