October is Toba Month! "Oinai Toshijima Week" is an event held at ryokan (inns) on Toshi Island in Toba City. Guests staying at an inn affiliated with the Toshijima Ryokan Association between October 2 and 4 can participate the following day in the "Toshijima Oinai Lottery," where they can win spiny lobster (Ise-ebi), seasoned seaweed from Toshi Island, ballpoint pens with the Toshijima name, and more. This lottery has no losing tickets, featuring spiny lobster for 1st prize, Toshijima seasoned seaweed for 2nd prize, and an original Toshijima ballpoint pen for 3rd prize. In addition, October 6 is designated as "Toro Sawara (Fatty Spanish Mackerel) Day," with special original plans offered by each accommodation facility. Why not take this opportunity to experience the rich seafood of Toshi Island and the hospitality unique to the island?
