About this event
'Kusatsu Halloween 2026,' held in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture, is one of the largest Halloween events in Shiga Prefecture. The entire commercial area around JR Kusatsu Station comes alive with various Halloween-themed events. Each year, the areas and activities expand, attracting many visitors from other prefectures as well. A major feature is the collaboration between Halloween, an overseas culture, and anime/cosplay, cultures Japan takes pride in worldwide. There are also perks such as free candy distribution for children who come in costume and free photo shoots by professional photographers. The venue is 'de Ai Hiroba' in the Former Kusatsu River Site Park, with content planned for everyone from families and students to adults, including underground idol live shows, a Halloween market, gourmet food, and sweets. Around 40 vendor booths are also being recruited, with food trucks, tent-based dining, market booths, and workshops planned.
