"Ritto Station Summer Festival 2026," held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the JR Ritto Station East Exit Plaza and Ritto Arts and Culture Hall Sakira, is an event that enlivens the entire local community. In addition to traditional events such as a children's portable shrine (mikoshi), Japanese taiko drum performances, and Bon Odori dancing, visitors can enjoy a lively atmosphere with numerous food trucks, stalls, and festival games (ennichi). A performance by "Tokyo Rickshaw" is also scheduled, providing plenty of highlights. The stage will feature local children's dance and brass band presentations, serving as a venue where the younger generation can shine. At the end of the festival, everyone dances Goshu Ondo, a traditional performing art of Shiga, creating a valuable opportunity for cross-generational exchange. The festival aims to serve as a gathering place for locals to feel connected, a platform where the young generation can be active, and a Ritto tradition to be passed on to future generations.
