Japanese name:旧和中散本舗 秋の特別公開
📅 Sat, Sep 19, 2026 - Wed, Sep 23, 2026
About this event
An autumn special public opening will be held at the Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property "Former Wachosan Honpo," located along the Tokaido road. You can take a guided tour without reservations of "Zesaiya," which used to sell "Wachosan"—a medicine said to have cured Tokugawa Ieyasu's stomachache. A guide will provide detailed explanations of highlights such as the mansion's architecture tailored to the highway, the tatami rooms where daimyo and court nobles once rested, and the garden designated as a National Place of Scenic Beauty. On the day, "Hokai-ji Temple," located a 3-minute walk from Wachosan Honpo, can also be visited at the same time. The venue also plans to sell "Tateba Coffee" and Ritto souvenirs, warmly welcoming visitors. This is a rare opportunity to experience the history of Wachosan while touring historical buildings and beautiful gardens.
