Hemslojd no Mori Festival 2026

About this event

This is an annual craft fair held at "Koto Hemslojd Village" in Higashiomi City, Shiga Prefecture. Named after "hemslöjd," the Swedish word for handicraft, the event brings together more than 80 groups of artisans from across the country in a venue surrounded by pleasant autumn nature. Unique works across diverse fields—including woodwork, ceramics, textiles, and metalwork—will be exhibited and sold, giving visitors the chance to talk directly with creators and learn about the background and passion behind their craftsmanship. Live music and food/drink booths will also be available, and visitors can tour the workshops of artisans active in the village.
