About this event
The Hino Town Cultural Festival will be held to present and exhibit the outcomes of daily cultural and artistic activities. In the exhibition section, works across diverse genres will be on display, including paintings, sculptures, photography, calligraphy, illustrated postcards (etegami), pressed flowers, fabric flowers, colored pencil art, tsumami-e, tole painting, patchwork, knitting, dolls, oshie, woodwork, cloisonne enamel, gardening, and ikebana flower arrangement. Bringing in works is on November 6 (Fri), the day before the event, and removing works is after 3:00 PM on November 15 (Sun), the final day. In the performance section, instrument performances, Taishogoto, traditional Japanese music, Kenshibu sword and poetry dance, Shigin poetry chanting, folk songs, dance, karaoke, and modern dance will be showcased. As a rule, only group participation is permitted, with each group allocated up to 20 minutes. Instrument performances are scheduled for November 8 (Sun) and November 14 (Sat), while choral and brass band performances are scheduled for November 15 (Sun). In the literary section, submissions of tanka, haiku, and senryu are invited, with up to 3 works allowed per person for each category. After judging, a collection of works will be distributed. Participation is free. Application forms can be obtained at Watamuki Hall Niji, Hino Town Library, local community centers, and the Board of Education Secretariat.
