About this event
The "Forest Sports Day" held in Taga Town is an event based on the concept of everyone enjoying together, from adults and children to wheelchair users and the elderly. The opening ceremony will be attended by the Mayor of Taga Town, along with Taga Town's mascot character "Taga Yui-chan" and the "Sasayuri Musume" ambassadors. The competitions are full of uniqueness, such as the "Log Toss" where log sizes vary according to age, the "Log Pull" inspired by the tug-of-war bar game played in elementary school sports days, and the "Log Cutting" where participants compete to cut a log to an exact specified weight rather than for speed. During the lunch break, a True-or-False (OX) quiz and a High & Low game are planned for everyone to enjoy. In the afternoon session, you can enjoy even more unique competitions, such as the "Pedometer Shake-Shake" where participants attach multiple pedometers to their bodies and compete for step counts, and the "Log Hugger" where competitors test how long they can cling to a log suspended by a forklift. Besides competitions, the free space features Molkky run by the sports association, a wooden ball pool, and wooden toys to keep small children entertained. In addition, experiential booths such as a succulent plant arrangement workshop and original wooden keychain crafting are abundantly offered. Food-wise, many kitchen cars ("Demise") will set up stalls offering a rich variety of gourmet dishes including Omi beef burgers, tacos, bento boxes, curry, mitarashi dango, stylish drinks, french fries, soft serve ice cream, and more. Admission to the park is free on the day, so please come with family and friends to move your body in nature, eat delicious food, and make wonderful memories.
