About this event
"Jinaimachi Four Seasons Story 'Autumn' Late Hina Matsuri" is an event held in Tondabayashi Jinaimachi that recreates the custom from the Edo period, mainly in the Kansai region, of displaying Hina dolls and chrysanthemums throughout town around the Chrysanthemum Festival (Choyo no Sekku) on the lunar calendar. It is also called "Kiku-bina" (Chrysanthemum Dolls) as people display chrysanthemums, considered flowers of perpetual youth and longevity, alongside Hina dolls to wish for the long life of families and couples. While strolling through Tondabayashi Jinaimachi, where many historic traditional townhouses remain, visitors can enjoy the ancient, elegant customs and the town scenery. In some facilities, exhibitions of Hina dolls and chrysanthemums are scheduled to start around October 1.
