About this event
The "Izumi Danjiri & Mikoshi Festival," held every autumn in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture, is a traditional festival unfolding across various parts of the city. Powerful danjiri float pulling takes place around JR Kita-Shinoda Station, around Izumi-Chuo Station, and around JR Izumi-Fuchu Station. In particular, around JR Kita-Shinoda Station, pulling may also take place on the 12th outside the main festival period. In addition, a mikoshi (portable shrine) festival is held at Onouto Shrine in the Yokoyama area, filling the entire community with energy. Please note that during the festival period, the pedestrian deck between Fuchuru Izumi and Izumi-Fuchu Station will be closed to pedestrian traffic all day. This festival is operated independently by local communities rather than hosted by the city, attracting many people as a classic autumn tradition of Izumi.
