About this event
Set in the Ikoma Mountain Range of Osaka, 'Shijonawate Rogaining' will be held to explore mountains and towns. Rogaining is an outdoor sport where participants use maps and photographs as clues to locate checkpoints and collect points. The stage this time spans the area across Shijonawate City, Daito City, and Katano City. Participants will explore a variety of spots while enjoying the rich nature of the Ikoma Mountains, local history and culture, and unique townscapes. In this event, the smartphone app 'NaviTabi' is used to confirm passing checkpoints via smartphone, making rogaining easier to enjoy. There are two time categories: [3-Hour Category] and [5-Hour Category], with team divisions (2 to 5 members) featuring [Men's Division], [Women's Division], [Mixed Division], and [Family Division]. There is also a [Solo Division] for single participants (the Solo Division is not eligible for awards). The appeal of rogaining lies not only in running to aim for a high score, but also in enjoying a town walk at your own pace while consulting with friends or family. Which checkpoints to visit and in what order is entirely up to the participants. Why not set out with a map in hand to discover new charms of familiar towns? It is an event where you can enjoy mountains, towns, and history.
