Held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the municipal organization, the "46th Daito Sports Carnival" is an event where citizens of all ages can experience a wide variety of sports. Under the theme "Daito: Japan's Most Energetic City", the event features a Grand Athletic Meet (Dai-undokai), physical fitness tests, health checks, a performance by the Shijonawate Gakuen High School Marching Band, food & game stalls, and more. The Grand Athletic Meet will take place across two venues: Daito City Gymnasium and Shijo Junior High School Gymnasium. The City Gymnasium will host long-rope jumping, chasing tamaire (beanbag toss), four-way tug-of-war, and bread-eating races. Meanwhile, Shijo Junior High School Gymnasium will host sprints, obstacle races, Dodgebee, and giant ball rolling for preschoolers through elementary school students. Physical fitness tests include grip strength and sit-ups, while health measurements include vascular age tests and veggie check tests. Participation is free; while some events of the Grand Athletic Meet require advance registration, physical fitness and health tests can be joined on the day. Bring sportswear and indoor gym shoes to enjoy the autumn of sports with family and friends.
