This is one of the prefecture's largest fireworks shows, launching over 10,000 fireworks—the largest scale ever for the "Himeji Port Festival." Last year, the festival launched 10,000 fireworks for the first time in its history to great acclaim. This year, in addition to launching a record-setting count of over 10,000 fireworks, a special presentation by 4 pyrotechnicians from "Omagari Fireworks" (one of Japan's Three Great Fireworks Festivals) will be featured for the first time at a fireworks display in Hyogo Prefecture. It aims to be the greatest fireworks festival in history, further elevating both quantity and quality. The special presentation by "Omagari Fireworks" allows visitors to experience the special atmosphere where the refined artistry of the traditional Omagari Fireworks merges with the location of Himeji Port. While maintaining the quantity of last year's event, this year will offer even higher quality fireworks. The program begins with comical performances synchronized to music, including character fireworks. Traditional Japanese burst shells (warimono) and "free-form shells" displaying diverse shapes, color transformations, and motion beyond standard spheres will also be showcased. 12-inch shells (shakudama) expanding to a diameter of about 300 meters will be launched, carrying the heartfelt passion of the pyrotechnicians. The main highlight is a wide starmine synchronized with music, featuring fireworks that were showcased the year before last at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition in Vancouver, Canada. Over a total 8-minute performance, visitors can fully savor the world of "Omagari Fireworks." Since the fireworks are launched from a barge just 300 meters away from the viewing area, the sound and light felt up close are truly spectacular.
