The 39th Himeji National Pottery Fair
Japanese name:第39回姫路全国陶器市
📅 Fri, Oct 30, 2026 - Tue, Nov 3, 2026
About this event
A 5-day pottery market held at Otemae Park at the foot of Himeji Castle, gathering pottery from 27 production areas across Japan. You can directly select ceramics such as Arita ware, Bizen ware, Shigaraki ware, Hasami ware, and Tanba ware from craftsmen and vendors from the production regions. At the venue, there are hand-turned potter's wheel and painting experiences, a kintsugi workshop where you can bring your own broken tableware to repair, and wheel demonstrations by master artisans. Throughout the event period, the National Pottery Works Exhibition under the theme of "Future Dining Table" will be on display. Depending on the weight of the pottery purchased, shoppers will receive shopping vouchers usable in the shopping streets leading up to Himeji Station. It is perfect for those looking for everyday tableware or wishing to combine their visit with a stroll around Himeji Castle. Carefully selected ceramics gathered from across the nation are exhibited and sold at reasonable prices, with workshop corners offering potter's wheel experiences, painting experiences, and kintsugi experiences. In addition, demonstrations by vendors and the National Pottery Works Exhibition—whose gifts are determined by visitor voting—will be held.
