About this event

In the lobby gallery of the Tanizaki Junichiro Memorial Museum of Literature in Ise-cho, Ashiya City, an art exhibition titled "In Soft Light and Serenity — Precious Time Facing One's Heart Within Paintings" by painter Kyoko Togami will be held. When painting flowers, Ms. Togami aims not merely to copy their appearance as seen, but to create works that convey the very life, wind, light, and temperature that the flowers possess. From her works, visitors can feel not only gentle colors but also the quiet passage of time. It is a perfect exhibition for spending a relaxing time at the Tanizaki Memorial Museum in summer. You can view the exhibition with just the regular museum admission fee, and it can also be enjoyed alongside the summer special exhibition currently taking place. Why not spend some time refreshing your mind while gazing at tranquil paintings in the air-conditioned museum? In addition, the museum will also host a round fan (maru-uchiwa) crafting workshop to paint seasonal flowers with Kyoko Togami. This is an event where participants can create their own one-of-a-kind round fan while painting flowers in watercolor. You can join empty-handed, and even beginners in painting can easily enjoy it.
