35th Sekinomiya Fureai Festival

A handmade summer festival held every year on the last Saturday of August in the Sekinomiya area of Yabu City, Hyogo Prefecture, taking place on Saturday, August 29 in 2026. At the Sekinomiya Fureai Park Lawn Ground venue, programs run by the local community will unfold, including shows on a special stage, brass band performances, a tent village by local organizations, and food truck stalls. Crowning the finale of the festival is a 30-minute fireworks display starting at 20:00, with the spectacle coloring the mountain night sky being the biggest highlight of this festival. A key appeal is the close distance between the launch site and the viewing area, allowing visitors to experience the fireworks filling the sky directly overhead up close. It is beloved as a warm, characteristically Sekinomiya summer festival enjoyable for children and adults alike. Approximately 500 fireworks will be launched, and the festival runs from 15:50 to 20:30. In the event of stormy weather, only the fireworks will be postponed to Sunday, August 30 from 20:00 to 20:30. Free temporary parking is also available.
