Kato City Yamada Nishiki Toast Festival 2026

Kato City is holding the "Kato City Yamada Nishiki Toast Festival" to promote the appeal of Japanese sake brewed with its specialty "Yamada Nishiki" rice, aiming to expand consumption and raise awareness. In 2026, it will be held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Kato municipal organization, with sake bar poet Rui Yoshida (Kato City Yamada Nishiki PR Ambassador) and the vocal group Junretsu (Kato City Support Cheer Squad) livening up the event as guests. On the day, an opening ceremony, an inauguration ceremony, kagami-biraki (sake barrel opening), and a toast with complimentary sake will take place. A mini live concert by Junretsu is also scheduled, making it a day to enjoy to your heart's content the fine sake brewed from the highest quality Yamada Nishiki that Kato City takes pride in. Free shuttle buses are planned to operate at the event venue, though some services will require advance reservation to alleviate congestion.
