About this event
This festival recreates the lively atmosphere of "Okage-mairi" pilgrimages to Ise Jingu Shrine that were popular in the late Edo period. Held around Ryuo-gu Shrine and the Katashio shopping district, visitors can experience the history and culture along the Ise Kaido Road. On the festival day, a vibrant "Okage Odori" dance parade and street performances are presented, enveloping the entire town in a lively, retro atmosphere. Experiencing the traditional merchant culture and joining the Okage Odori dance circle alongside locals will make you feel as if you have slipped back in time to the Edo period. Numerous street stalls line the surrounding area, allowing visitors to enjoy local gourmet delicacies while strolling through the bustling streets.
