Idea Contest: KOSEN Robot Contest 2026 Kinki Regional Tournament

About this event

Held in Yamatokoriyama, Nara Prefecture, the "Idea Contest: National College of Technology Robot Contest 2026 Kinki Regional Tournament" is a robot competition where technical college students from across Japan tackle a different competition task every year, competing in creative ingenuity and technical prowess. Organized as an educational activity to foster students' creativity and monozukuri (manufacturing) skills, this year's competition theme is the "Dust Cloth Hurling Championship." Under simple rules adapted from a childhood game, students compete using robots packed with ideas, technology, and pride in their schools and local regions. This tournament is hosted by Nara National College of Technology as the managing school and held at the Yamatokoriyama City General Park Facility Multipurpose Gymnasium (Goldfish Square). Viewing was free of charge, though advance application was required. You can witness the intense battles of many technical college students up close.
