About this event

Held annually on November 3 (Culture Day) in Yamatokoriyama City, the "Parent-Child Festival" aims to enhance mutual solidarity among citizens, bring together parents and children who have fewer everyday opportunities to interact, and foster a bright community. A historic festival dating back to 1975, the Parent-Child Festival Parade begins at 10:30 AM. Starting from in front of City Hall and marching to the Jonai Campus of Koriyama High School inside the Koriyama Castle ruins, the parade conveys the vibrant energy of the local community. The venue is packed with programs for both children and adults to enjoy, including mobile petting zoos and street stalls. Under the autumn sky, families can enjoy wholesome recreation and spend a delightful day together.
