Held in Tenri City, Nara Prefecture, "Bunkamura Creation vol.8 Outcome Presentation: Theater 'Punpun and Kiki'" is a theatrical performance staged as the outcome presentation of artist Yasunori Kawamatsu's residency. Kawamatsu has created fictional stories based on research and interviews through exhibitions and artist-in-residence programs in Japan and abroad, presenting installation works using text and video. In this residency production, focusing on Nara's "medicinal herbs" and "earthen walls," he stages his first-ever theatrical work "Punpun to Kiki" (Powders and Yellows). This performance aims to provide an opportunity to encounter the fragments of inspiration and hesitations in the creative process, as well as the richness found in parts that might seem useless at first glance.
