About this event

At Tatsuta Taisha Shrine, situated in Sango Town, Nara Prefecture, the Autumn Grand Festival and Togyosai (procession festival) are held every year on the third Saturday and Sunday of October. This festival gives thanks for bountiful grain harvests and the prosperity of various industries, passing down ancient traditions to future generations. In particular, this year, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the town's municipal organization, the procession of portable shrines (mikoshi) and drum floats (taikodai) to the front of the town hall is scheduled for Sunday, October 18. In conjunction with this procession, traffic restrictions will be implemented on a section of the Seyo Line 1 elevated road. The outward route is scheduled from 13:00 to 13:30, and the return route from 14:30 to 15:00 (both tentative). Vibrant scenes can be seen throughout Sango Town, offering an opportunity to experience the community's lively atmosphere firsthand.
