About this event

Celebrating the harvest of olives, a specialty of Oji Town, Nara Prefecture, the "Oji Olive Harvest Festival 2026 - Hike & Marche -" will be held. This year, the oil extraction factory will serve as the venue, offering hands-on olive oil extraction experiences and tastings of freshly pressed olive oil. This is a rare opportunity to taste Oji-produced olive oil, which won the gold prize for three consecutive years at the international olive oil competition "OliveJapan." There are also plenty of experiential activities such as olive harvesting, an olive pickle pit-spitting contest, olive oil tastings by olive oil sommeliers, sales of olive products (oil, fresh pickled olives, soap, seedlings, etc.), and making pendants from olive wood. In addition, numerous food and beverage booths serving olive-based dishes are scheduled to open. Content such as mystery-solving games is also being planned, making it an event where visitors can fully enjoy an autumn day.
