📅 Sun, Oct 25, 2026
About this event
A harvesting experience event for local specialty black soybeans ("KAWAI BLACK") and sweet potatoes will be held in Kawai Town, Nara Prefecture. This event offers a rare opportunity to harvest flavorful "KAWAI BLACK" soybeans—grown using Kawai Town's traditional "two-stem" cultivation method—along with naturally sweet sweet potatoes. Participants can take home 2 black soybean plants and 2 sweet potato plants as souvenirs. The event is divided into morning and afternoon sessions; participants can arrive and harvest at any time within the designated session hours. The event will proceed in light rain but will be cancelled in severe weather. Discounts from regular rates are available for JAF members and Kawai Town residents. Children of elementary school age and younger may participate without prior application. Take this opportunity to enjoy harvesting autumn flavors with family and friends.
