This is a lantern dedication festival held at Hikari Sanbo Kojin Shrine, known as one of Japan's Three Great Kojin Shrines, to pray for good health, disease prevention, and the fulfillment of various wishes. Approximately 20,000 candles and lanterns are lit all at once, enveloping the shrine grounds in a magical and mystical atmosphere. This scene imparts deep emotion and peace of mind to visitors. Held annually on the second Saturday of September, you can experience the traditional festival atmosphere firsthand.
