About this event

"OTOGURAI" is a hands-on festival held in Katsuragi Town, Wakayama Prefecture, connecting the future of Wakayama through sound, food, and experiences. Taking place at Katsuragi Park from Saturday, September 12 to Sunday, September 13, 2026, two days unfold allowing visitors to fully enjoy autumn in Kishu. On stage, a diverse music and dance culture centered around youth will be showcased, including live performances by local artists, kids' dance, Yosakoi, Japanese taiko drumming, and performances by Kaseda High School students. At the food market, local restaurants and food trucks gather to offer limited-edition menus packed with Kishu ingredients such as ume (plums), mikan (mandarins), fish, and gibier (wild game), along with foods featuring unique youth-inspired twists. Furthermore, in the hands-on culture area, workshops easily enjoyed by children and adults alike will be held—spanning skateboarding, musical instrument playing, art, and darts—making it an event where visitors can not only watch, but participate, create, and connect. Admission is free.
