About this event
Hosted by Gogatsuden, a small hamlet of only 13 households in the Nagi district of Chizu Town, Tottori Prefecture, this festival is a summer tradition. Despite the small size of the settlement, the festival creates an extraordinary excitement. The event begins with worship at the Jizo statue illuminated by candlelight. Following this, dynamic performances such as the umbrella dance (kasa-odori) and Yosakoi unfold, captivating spectators. The grand finale of the festival is Chizu Town's only fireworks display. The magical candlelight, the Jizo statue, brilliant performances, and fireworks come together to illuminate the summer night.
