About this event
Held at the Ishitani Residence, a Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property in Chizu Town, Tottori Prefecture, 'Saiko Iwata Botanical Art Exhibition: The Breath of Plants' displays a series of delicate and beautiful works by Saiko Iwata, a botanical artist residing in Nanbu Town. Specializing in depicting nameless flowers and plants blooming in gardens, back hills, and roadsides, Iwata's works are filled with a gentleness that closely connects with the viewer's heart. Centered on the theme of familiar autumn wild plants and flowers, this exhibition expresses a world that evokes the brilliance of plant life and the prayers within. Merchandise such as postcards and calendars will also be sold, and the exhibition can be viewed for just the admission fee. Botanical artist Saiko Iwata graduated from the Design Department of the Faculty of Art and Design at Joshibi University of Art and Design in 1978, has held numerous solo exhibitions, and has also been active as a botanical art instructor since 1997. Painted with gratitude and prayers for all living things, the artworks evoke deep emotion in viewers.
