Group Sakura Obi Art Exhibition
Japanese name:グループさくら 帯アート展
📅 Sat, Oct 10, 2026 - Tue, Nov 3, 2026
About this event
The "Obi Art Exhibition" will be held, showcasing cherished traditional kimono sashes (obi) that were once tucked away in drawers and have now been transformed into new works of art. Featuring various obi creations such as cranes, rabbits, and lion dance motifs, visitors can enjoy the beauty of traditional Japanese obi and a diverse collection of pieces. The exhibition features roughly 30-plus objects and pieces that overturn conventional ideas of obi. Admission is included with the regular museum entry fee. In addition, an obi art creation workshop will be held; since no scissors are used, children can safely participate. A tapestry-making workshop will also be conducted, allowing participants to create wall decor pieces for their rooms or entranceways.
